After searching for a good restaurant to celebrate my birthday, I stumbled upon Marina Bay Sands' Skypark Restaurants. I have learned to search for reviews on restaurants before spending my hard-earned money. The first thing that came to my mind for such restaurants was the expensive price. As we want to try something different, I chose to have our dinner at The Chocolate Bar in Marina Bay Sands. The restaurant is situated at 57th floor of Tower 2 and serves a buffet of chocolate-inspired flavours. It only opens from 8:00pm to 12:00am. This is ideal on after-dinner chocolate desserts.
We arrived at 7:30pm in Marina Bay Sands and approached the hotel staff to get our pass to the restaurant. According to the TCB staff, we will pass by the Skypark area going to the restaurant. I thought of taking pictures first before having our buffet. However, we were only allowed to go up at exactly 8:00pm. Moreover, the seats that we reserved will only be reserved for 15 minutes. Hence, we need to be at the restaurant before 8:15pm. Upon reaching level 57, we registered at the entrance with the access card and this was given back to the restaurant. We walked through the Skypark and were so amazed with the view from top.
We were delighted to choose our seat with the city view. They also have observation deck that is open for public but you need to pay $20 for it. If you were to dine here, choose the table before the door nearest to buffet area which has a city view. We realized that our place is the best spot as we can still feel the air-condition from inside.
It is just so nice to have a sumptuous buffet with this view and ambiance!
It's quite hard to take pictures of the buffet area. The lighting is dimmed and I needed to use flash. The Chocolate Bar offers 57 desserts crafted by hand with premium chocolate. The buffet costs $38++ (service charge and GST) and includes a free flow of tea and coffee.

Most of the people in the restaurant were celebrating their birthday as well. The chefs prepared a dish for every celebrant amidst singing the happy birthday song. This is the best place to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. If you also have UOB debit/credit card, you will enjoy a free glass of champagne for each person. Unfortunately, we don't have, but you can order it separately.
The selection of food was pretty decent and all desserts were labeled accordingly. They also serve some fruits in the buffet area. One of the perks is the free flow of the famous and expensive TWG tea. It's my first time to drink this tea and had read so many good reviews about it. After finishing one teapot of TWG, the crew gave me another set of it.

Eating fruits and drinking teas will rinse off the sweetness in your mouth. By alternating these with chocolates, you will be able to go for more chocolate indulgence.
